These are some things that I've enjoyed or am currently enjoying from around the web. I update this list as and when I come across something valuable that's worth adding.
- Carey Baraka published a beautifully written piece in The Guardian on Kenyan man of letters, Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o, last spring. I emailed Carey to congratulate him on this accomplishment and was met with a gracious reply. His newsletters usually offer something interesting.
- The Goobie and Doobie YouTube channel is a necessary salve to modern life, with tranquil audiovisual nature scenes that help with winding down and meditation. Dr Goobie's honest conversations about life as a former neurosurgeon, finding meaning and holistic health are enriching.
- Chris Gethard's Beautiful Anonymous podcast has a cult following for a reason. Callers have one hour to speak their minds or tell their fascinating stories with no names or holds barred. Conversations often get deep. Hosting this show is essentially my ideal career.
- Lonnie Ro's Another Cognition podcast is down-to-earth and thoughtful — I've gained some useful insights from listening to these casual conversations between friends of different creative disciplines and professional backgrounds in Los Angeles. It's worth the attention if you're creatively inclined. Props to Lonnie for his funky house remix of an Alicia Keys classic. It's absolute flames.
